Website and Web Application Users and Visitors
Like most website and web application operators, we collect non-personally identifying information like e.g., the browser type, operating system, language preference, referring site, and date and time of each visitor. We collect this non-personally identifying information to better understand how visitors use our website and web app.
We also collect potential personally identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for visitors on our website and users who are logged in our web app. We only disclose IP addresses of users who are logged in under the same circumstances that we use and disclose personally identifying information as described below.
Gathering of Personally Identifying Information
The amount and type of personally identifying information that we gather depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, if you choose to create a Light ’em Up GO account with a third-party service such as Facebook or Google, you may have to provide us with your username or user ID for your identity to be authenticated. When the authentication is complete, we will be able to access certain information based on your permissions from the third-party service (e.g., email address related to that account). We don’t receive or store passwords for any accounts on third-party services. Due to the nature and purpose of Light ’em Up GO, your voice recordings may be gathered and stored.
We may also collect information like your gender, date of birth, hometown and Instagram handle if you want it to be part of your account.
In each case, we only collect such information if necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with the platform. We do not disclose personally identifying information other than as described below. You can always refuse to reveal personally identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent you from using our website or web app.
E-mail, WhatsApp, Newsletter
In case you contact us via email or WhatsApp and should we gather personally identifying information during that process, we will keep your personally identifying information stored for the purpose of handling your request. We will keep this personally identifying information for a period of 12 months or longer only in case applicable laws require us to do so.
Aggregated Statistics
We may collect statistics about the behavior of its users on its website and web app, including IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, and other statistics. We use and analyze (and may use the services of third parties to analyze) this information to customize and improve the platform. For instance, we may monitor the most popular accounts on the web app. We may display this information publicly or provide it to others.
