Yeni–Cigars, Tea, and Journalism
Yeni, it’s a pleasure and we are excited to welcome you as an ambassador! Would you mind introducing you to the Light ‘em Up community?
Not at all! I am Yenisbel Momblan and although I smoke more than I write, journalism brought me to from Cuba to Spain. Actually, my excuse is being the first Cuban to take a master's degree in the newspaper El Mundo. I tried my first cigar (a Montecristo Edmundo) more than a decade ago and since then I have not stopped falling in love, learn, and enjoy with everything that surrounds the world of tobacco.
Currently, I recommend cigars in ‘Lobito de Mar’, one of the restaurants of the renowned chef Dani García in Madrid.
What defines great cigar experience for you?
The experience begins when you choose what to smoke. The moment you smell it, touch it, think about where it comes from, what to pair it with... It is an intimate dance between your senses and you. The atmosphere, the company... everything that increases the sensory experience of what comes after–the smoke.
Do you have any unusual habits when it comes to enjoying cigars?
I really enjoy pairings with different drinks but lately I accompany my cigar with coffee or tea.

What made you join us in the first place?
It's an interesting and necessary project for all those, who are interested in the cigar world. It shows passion, knowledge and a lot of optimism. I didn't need much more to embark on this adventure.
Do people often ask you “Where can I smoke”, or “Where can I buy”?
Yes! They ask frequently “where to buy” and how they can access specific cigars that are perhaps not easy to find in the market. And it is true that the information on the internet is often not updated or it is simply not there. The same goes for places where you can enjoy a cigar. Mostly the information that is found is scarce or from private cigar lounges. I think that's why this app will be a lot more accurate.
Who do you think should know this?
All smokers, without exception. Those who start, the most experienced, and even those who have an apex of curiosity. It’s the opportunity to have everything we need in one place.
You already had a look behind the scenes, what are you hyped about?
I see a great family enjoying the passion that unites us. I think once we go public, people will refer to time before and after the launch of this app and I want to be part of it.
